I cleaned out the charge port, confirmed there's no issues with the charger (it charges my DS & other GBA SP), and purchased a replacement battery. Still will not charge. WebSo I just bought an old GBA SP off of amazon, and it's not turning on. I also bought a charger, and the device seems to be charging, but I still can't turn it on while doing so. I'm assuming the battery is completely dead, but I'm unfamiliar with the system and I don't know if this is normal for a drained battery. WebIt's possible that there's something else wrong with it, but plug you ags-101 in without a battery. The gba needs a working battery just to power on! So I'm pretty sure it's the battery pack that keeps cutting it out. It doesn't seem to cut out if I keep the brightness on the lowest setting though.

Without seeing a schematic and troubleshooting it, this is just a guess. Your best bet would be to pay to have it repaired or at least diagnosed. WebCheck your charger with a multimeter to see that it does supply power. Take the back cover off to expose the charging port. With the charger plugged in, you should get around 6V at the port. Then check the voltage on the battery ports and see what you get. If so, it may be time to change the battery and then re-evaluate.
