Webb25 maj 2024 · Oiling is an oxidation prevention process that is often done immediately after pickling and rinsing. It is performed because a metal substrate, once it has been pickled, is completely exposed to the atmosphere. This can result in rapid corrosion. On steels in particular, it is common to get flash rusting following the pickling process. WebbO nce rinsed following our pickle process, the parts are clean and contaminant-free, allowing for them to be treated with a rust preventative coating for added corrosion resistance. Non-oil and oil rust preventatives are available. Heavy, light, and a dry-to-touch options of organic and inorganic rust preventatives or inhibitors are available.
