Interested first-year students and eligible candidates who apply after available slots have been filled may also have an opportunity for graduate school preparation. WebbAt Southern Illinois University Carbondale, the McNair Scholars Program accommodates at least twenty-eight students each year. All students participate in academic year and summer activities until they graduate. McNair Scholars are motivated students who have both the desire and the potential to earn a doctorate degree.
